Jörg Boner
Jörg Boner (born 1968 in Uster) lives and works in Zurich. Since graduating from the former "Schule für Gestaltung" in Basel in 1996, he has created a wide range of products, lighting and furniture. In addition to his work as a designer, he taught at the ECAL in Lausanne from 2003 to 2014. Some of Jörg Boner's works can be seen at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and the Museum of Design, Zurich. This collection also includes some of the lighting designs he created for Schätti. In 2011, he was awarded the Swiss Grand Prix Design by the Swiss Confederation.
In Jörg Boner's design, production methods and the economic conditions associated with them are part of the design. The lightness of the drawing should be reflected in the way the product is made. He always understands design in different contexts, such as technical and economic, as well as historical and cultural. Things should be created in such a way that their beauty and function remain with us for a long time.
Jörg Boner for Schätti
This lighting collection for Schätti is the result of many years of successful collaboration between designer Jörg Boner and industrialist Thomas Schätti. In 2004, the company produced components for furniture designs by Jörg Boner for the then Swiss collection Team by Wellis. From this joint beginning, a long-term collaboration developed, leading to the first lighting collection for Schätti in 2012.
Jörg Boner is the designer of all the lamps and designs all the displays of our collections at exhibitions and trade fairs in Switzerland and abroad.
